If you require a fibre source to feed with Chestnut Competition mix try Chestnut Chomp (a long chop, high-fibre oat straw) or Chestnut Alpha Chomp (a high-fibre, higher protein long chop alfalfa).
Summary of Palatability Feed Trial Responses All of the horses in the palatability trial conducted by Equisine14 consumed their entire ration, including those that were categorised as ‘fussy eaters’. Results showed that Chestnut Competition Mix produces significantly higher chew rates and significantly extended feeding times when compared to a competition mix from a leading brand. The ingredients in Chestnut Competition Mix were particularly well-received by older horses who were noted to have had problems chewing their normal feed - our feed was found to be more manageable, allowing for easier chewing.
